What was bad about the gcode preview in KS? Generally KS is better, Slic3r tends to cross perimeters a lot more creating more opportunities for blobs and strings.

I don't know how the slicing is for Up. Last I heard Netfabb didn't support retraction which is a deal breaker, thought they might have had an update. My understanding of the high end printers is that they allow very little tweaking and print everything slow and with lots of fill.

I started with SL3 because it was integrated with RH and had little luck with Skeinforge. I went to KISSlicer based on recommendations here and it is fast but object placement is terrible and some settings are not available such as control of top and bottom layers.

What else is out there? Is there an easy way to resize and do basic manipulations of STLs out side of the slicer programs?

Also, I think the G-code from Kiss is inferior to SL3 and I get a lot of strings and less precision using Kiss.

Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.
