Another option is the Anycubic 4MAX kit if you can find one. I bought one for $200 shipped and it is the best printer I have had and have had many. They are enclosed and I was able to print as low as .025 layer heights on mine. It also has a large 210 x 210 x 300 build area and heated build plate.

do not - i repeat - do NOT buy the acrylic one!!

Acrylic is not stable or strong enough! I can't believe they are even still selling that one - it is NOT worth the extra money.

get the 2020 version and you will be MUCH happier.

i bought and built mine in late 2015 - used it, dragged it around to various shows and ultimately ended up selling it - shipping it to another state. the person that bought it used and abused it, and ended up passing it on to someone else.. and it is STILL going.

I built that one as my first kit printer (i already had a Solidoodle 4, but wanted to build one) and it is a pretty easy, straight forward build - and closer to your price point.

Thank you much for posting that. I forgot about FT. Im thinking of getting the prusa clean for 279. yes, its a little more but worth the cost AND i have the stls so i can print the parts for it now on my CR10

I do have experience with the Folgertech Kossel that Tin Falcon linked to, and it is a decent kit for the money. Yes, it is more than what you really want to spend, but in truth, most anything in that $200 range is probably not going to be of decent quality.

Also going to suggest that building a delta/kossel as your first printer is probably not the wisest course of action - they are not easy to set up and calibrate.

This is the only delta kit I would consider not the greatest but certainly usable. I do not really have space or need for another printer so have not purchased.

Another possible option this does not have the aluminum corners of the first kit . is is pre assembled and has been on e bay for something close to a year so he may accept a lower offer. shipping will be more as it is pre assembled.

I am curious to know if this is a good kit to buy or not. I am wanting the experience of building my own 3d printer but not 100% sure i want to source everything for a reprap. I need to keep it at or about $200USD please. this is for a school project. I would like the printer to actually work and not a be a paper weight haha. any one use this one?
