As a school we don't have to worry about making a project economically feasible - the ultimate goal is education. That being said - we are a government school - we can only afford the upfront costs if one of the grant applications that I've put in come through. In the initial part of the project we'd just be purchasing pre-ground plastic to produce our own spools. We'll build up some expertise and experience before attempting the full recycling process. The educative potential for full recycling is pretty interesting.

I am investigating a recyclebot for a primary (elementary) school in WA. Matched to a 3D printer. Invesigation is over materials:
Ideally one that can extrude PET or HDPE or other locally available plastic so that students can be involved in the whole process from collection, sorting etc to --> 3D prints.
