Not sure where you live or if you have and air conditioner, but a few years back I acquired a cough that lasted well over a year. I went to an ENT (Ears, Nose and Throat specialist and they said I had allergies. Well, after taking the allergy shots for about a year. I looked into the intakes side of my condenser on my AC unit and it was full of mold. Long story short after I spent about 4 hours carefully cleaning it my problem went away.

I wonder if my throat's cilia has gotten longer and tickles more or if my throat dries faster than it moistens. Honey helps, but coughs are nowhere near as affective as when I was pre-27 young.

40 years old is still very young, persistent tickle in your throat are signs of in Inflammation, can cause by from auto-immune disease like Asthma to throat cancer. If you are not smoking or humidity in your room is not extremely low, you need to see doctor. Flu or allergy may also cause this but usually don't last more than two to three weeks.

Inflammation usually triggered by exogenous DNA, RNA, and protein, which is not significant in pollution produced by 3D printer. unless your filament have mold growing on them.

Chronic Inflammation is something you should be concerned/worried about, go see doctor.

Thanks guys. I am wondering if it is just indoor pollution or a food allergy I haven't quite identified.

unless you are standing directly over the machine.. literally with your face right over the extruder at all times the machine is running... (and even then it is doubtful) ... I sincerely doubt that the "tickle" in your throat is caused by the printer or the materials being printed with.

general smog/air pollution, smoking, being in heavy traffic areas, some work environments, even your home itself, can cause you more problems than one little 3d printer will.

I have COPD - diagnosed BEFORE i ever got a 3d printer.. I do not suffer any ill effects from using the printers (note the plural here)
I print primarily in ABS, which is "supposedly" worse than PLA - have done so for several years now. My COPD is no worse now than it was when I started 3d printing - and, I have had no medications for it for over a year..

4 years, no problems with any filament. I do wear a mask when I work with acetone though.

It's just age and paranoia. Could also be dry air. I have printed six years near daily in closed up apartment with no apparent effects.

I have had a tickle in my throat year round for the last 2+ years. No cough brings enough of anything up to make me feel easy. I breathe very cautiously. Is that just age since I'm nearly 40 or is it stuff I breathed in from 3D printing?
