			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>What is it with Google and search engines?</p><p>Does anyone here know where I can get a diagram for a 555 circuit (reason being I have about 200 of them) that I can configure to do one very simple thing...</p><p>What is that thing?</p><p>To sense if the probes have water touching them, as in, is their sufficient water to keep the pump submerged? If not, turn it off...</p><p>And I asked just that question on the electronics stackexchange subforum and again, the run around, diagram, specs, voltages, etc... all superfluous stuff for something that should be very simple to get from either google or from a forum designed for people wanting to learn about electronics.</p><p>So does any one here know where I can find a simple circuit that simply tests a water level is present?</p><p>Closest I found so far is a rain sensor but that outputs to a buzzer a signal, not what I want, I only need the output to switch a transistor on or off, no noise needed.</p><p>The last pump shredded itself when the water level dropped too low, so I need to ensure that doesn&#039;t happen because it might not sound a lot but £5 a motor, 3 weeks turn around, and I don&#039;t fancy popping out to the aquarium centre to get one at wallet burning £39.99 when I could cobble one together out of things I already have.</p><p>The problem?</p><p>I have tried several search terms and for some reason, google is returning the same result set over and over again, seems to think thats what I am looking for. All it is returning is a water level monitor that switches on a pump when the water gets too low which is ideal if I had a water tank and my own well, however its not helping me one bit and I have been trying different searches and commented in a couple of forums already, namely the stack exchange one that has not helped either.</p><p>So far I have tried</p><p>555 water sensor and pump switch<br />water detector 555 timer switch<br />water sensor for pump off using 555 timer</p><p>Any ideas please.</p><p>At some point in the future I will be using a similar circuit (when I find one) for part of a 3D printer.</p>]]></content>
