I'm curious how you save the .TXT / .BIN files generated in NTAG Edit Tool v1.30 to NTAG213 and how you later read the saved NTAG213.

as this seems to be the only thread about the Da Vinci Nano filament hack, I'd like to share my experience here.

Im using a Da Vinci Nano which just updated its firmware to Version 1.1.1.

I've generated dag data using the NTAG Edit Tool v1.30. In the tool I selected the desired material (PLA) and color (white). Then I saved the data to a file:

Looking at the data the following points out:
- page 2: no hardware locking enabled
- page 41: authentication disabled

Then I programmed this data to a new NTAG213 tag using the Arduino and a simple sketch.
The printer ran nicely with this tag. After a few prints I read the tag data and compared it to the original file:

Apparently the printer has modified the tag more than expected.
Especially
- page 2 lock bits have been set
- page 8 (material and tempeature) has been modified
- page 11 should be the same as page 10 but has been set the the previous available lenth
- page 20-23 contain the remaining length as expected
- page 41 remains unchanged leaving authentication disabled
- pages 6, 7, 15, 16 (originally blank) are filled with data

Conclusion:
The NTAG Edit Tool still seems to work with the latest firmware of the Da Vinci Nano.
However it seems like some pages are used differently than found in many reports like

Maybe someone has some more insights on this.

Are there any good reasons updating the firmware of the printer?

Wonderful！The new tag will work when the computer is disconnected to internet. Maybe the software has some authentication mechanisms for filament.

I just checked multiple website, the nano use same filament as Jr. and miniMaker, it is unlikely it use a different tag or password algorithm, otherwise old Jr. and miniMaker will not be able to use this new filament.

Both!
Because of my bold move，the old tag was broken. There is no NDEF deyected, and I can't write again.
Then I tried to buy some paper tag, copy the data from Xenolphthalein or use the APK generate new tag....False T_T

I would not say it is the most obscure model, it came out early 2018 and we just have not see enough victim yet.

Sounds to me like they bought an XYZ first and then the most obscure model they sell without first doing any homework or research. They may just be stuck with buying XYZ over priced filament.

Reset the tags with android phone will never work, you need buy paper tag and program it with android phone. Mini and Jr. remembers last 108 tag id in its epprom, there is no real reason nano don't. Check the post in android phone method and there are information about what kind of paper tag to buy.

I'm not sure if anyone have successfully tried this on nano, if you are not sure if it will work and don't want to take the risk to buy the paper tag, swap your tag with someone else and reset it with android phone before put it in your machine. Once the machine reads the tag, it will remember the remain filament and you will no longer able to use it in your machine after reset.

you may be stuck newer model the hack may not work. Do not know for sure . this forum a bit quiet on weekends. may take a little time for the davinci guys to chime in.

nano just like the mini , use Jr.Pla with 100m and 210 degrees.

I followed the madman907's forum , using android phone with special apk to reset the tag, but it does not work! also followed modfreakz's forum , faild~

Anbody konw how to reset the tags? or hack the nano.
