I have had to rebuild the thing a few times as my first barrel was bad, had a stall control board go bad, and countless other reasons. The white paper on the insulation came apart so I put the tape on there to keep the mess of yellow fuz at bay. The thermocouple is installed in the divot in the nozzle and secured with the zip tie. After some work, I found and letting the machine set and auto-tune for 30 minutes, I extruded lots of pla at a surprising 190C with good results. I then printed a perfect benchy and calibration cube on my CR-10 with the extruded clear filament. I was expecting to extrude closer to 150C from what I have read, but my results are without drying in an oven or anything and anything below 185C the auger locks up as it is too cool.

As for as amps go, they actually seemed to drop to around 1 amp as time went on and a few scoops of material went though the machine. Seems happy at 190C so Ill stick to that even though its abnormally high from what I can tell. The PLA is 3DXTech brand.

My next adventure will be to get the fila-winder set up, it seems pretty hard to use from what what I can tell... It least I have tons of filament now lol.

Thanks!!

Noah

Im having a problem where the filastruder only extrudes for about a second at a time before the motor seems to lock up and stall. Without any PLA pellets fed into the device, the motor and auger spin with no catches or bumps in any way. After the pellets are inserted and allowed to flow up to the nozzle, the motor soon grids to a halt. After waiting about a minute, the motor can turn again but only for another second or two before stalling. My theory is that the plastic is cooling in the space between the heater clamp and the nozzle and the heater is not keeping up with the material flow, cooling and not allowing the auger to spin. The auger extends 5mm beyond the pipe's end and was allowed to warm up for 20 minutes before use. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thank you

Noah
