So i picked up a davinci JR 1.0 used on eBay for $100.00. Couldn’t pass it up for the price. Got it and it’s on the dreaded 2.2.7.
I’ve been reading allot and seeing that people are modifying the G code in the 3w files setting the total filament to 0, extruder filament to 0 & the extruder to 0 but are having issues with under extrusion ect ect.
I’ve seen people using Cora to slice with, I personally don’t have a mac to use some people’s methods.
I tried the NFC chip hack and tag writing and all I was able to do was get away with changing the color, Everything else was giving me a spool error because the printer remembers what the spool was last as far as counting goes.
Also because I forgot I was on a different user on my spare Android phone I failed login authentication and locked one of my NFC chips..

Now my question is, has anyone tried the green or the red NFC chips when using the threedubber 3w files sliced with XYZ’s software? Reason I ask is I was able to get one side off of my printer and (as cheesy as this sounds) pipe in white MakerBot filament using a taped on a stock clear color NFC tag. The print seemed to go well just reading off the remaining amount counted on the NFC.. UNTIL HALF WAY.

I noticed the extruder started skipping the gear and making a popping noise at the extruder telling me the hot end isn’t hot enough to feed properly as I also have a davinci JR pro 1.0 and I use the same filament at 210c “tough filament” all day long with no issues.. that -10c melting point that XYZ proprietary filament was set to on the clear making it 200c was a big issue causing my print to fail half way on a 1x2x2 sized print. And a major jam that ended in me completely disassembling the hot end and fan assembly and drilling out the stuck filament..

My point I’m trying to make I guess is, If the 210c temps do just fine on the pro version then wouldn’t the green or red NFC work for the under extrusion issues with the aftermarket filaments too when using threedubber and modifying the G-code? Or do the temps change when you set the G-code to 0?
