eror message when i press check for new firwmware

eror message when i press check for new firwmware within freelss
it always comes up as 0 EROR

the motor work so do the the laser and when i make a change on the scanner and click save, it does save

the licsence i have is a genuine one but a 2015 one
not sure if the license is out of date and the pi states than certificates have expired. can not up grade this version as it been dropped and replaced by a newer raspbian
i thought that would be the problem but no, same on the lastest version to,, its just the bit where i click update and it does nothing that im concernd about

i have my atlas as to not load on pi startup as that stops frm saving all the controls

so by doing thos it does something to allowsaveing
