FWIW, those Dupont connectors are only good for 2 amps. Maybe 3 if crimped properly with 22AWG wire. A 40w heater at 12 volts would be 3.3A.

I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why I was having a Y shift on my most reliable Solidoodle. After much profanity, I took out the X gantry for inspection. Cracks along the bearing housings allowed for slop and lots of it.

When cleaning support, always cut away. I was playing with some S3D profiles, and the support ended up being stronger than the actual print. Three stitches later I still can't use some tools or make some modifications....at least for another week.

This is the E3D heater plug for the same printer. I have no idea how long it was like this. I power down and completely unplug my machines when I work on them, so I know it happened during normal operation.
