I am trying to determine what the Z-axis is using: threaded rod, trapezoidal lead screw, etc. I have a lot of Z-axis backlash on my DV Jr - over 0.1mm - and want to eliminate it by fixing the Z-axis hardware. I read a post here that the 1.0 uses a 8mm threaded rod with 1.25mm pitch so that may be what the DV Jr is using also.

I've done some searching here on eliminating Z-axis and found some good suggestions but I think replacing at least the Z-axis nut with something newer/better is the minimum required. I may replace the nut and threaded rod if I can find the right combo. The issue is finding something that fits in the original Z-axis carries without too much modification or having to change the stepper motor info (I converted to a RAMPS 1.4 so its not difficult to do that if I have to).

Attached is an image of the Z-axis:

Pitch measures to 1mm, diameter ~8mm.

Thanks in advance!
