I think you need to search and read a bit .
ll kinds of things have been done to the davinci printers
The jr not as much as it is newer.
IIRC there had been some success hacking tags.

IIRC simplify 3d will work with the jr but does not solve tag issues.
The only way to make a davinci more or less compatible with open source firmware is redo the electronics with a RAMPS 1.4/ arduino upgrade.

Hello all, I just recently became the owner of a Jr 1.0 and was wondering if there was a custom firmware project started for it. I'm currently looking for options to work around the NFC chip options as well as locked in printing software that suit my needs. If there is a project that is in the works I'd really appreciate being pointed in the right direction. If not, is there any way I can help? I know nothing about coding, but I think I can help test. Even if there were an false NFC spoof using an arduino would help at this point.
