			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I wonder how seriously Solidoodle would take me if I told them to just get a CNC lathe &amp; turn their own rods, ending the problem with cheap bent rods. I mean, a used 18&quot; lathe can be found cheaply enough, add a control panel &amp; motorized tool drive... Nice, straight stepper rods.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>John emailed me back and said I was likely hitting the bottom with the bed, which my video shows otherwise and I explained it as well. Then he asked for a picture of how bad the banding is, which surprises me that he didn&#039;t look at it in my post, but he might be busy. I have a feeling that he doesn&#039;t want to be tech support on a Friday. (I wouldn&#039;t)</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I replied to John at Solidoodle support (the original email spoken about in the first post) and haven&#039;t received a response back yet. I linked my comment at the bottom of page 2 (of this thread) with the video in it. They have gotten back to me within 12 hours before (on a Saturday no less) so I wonder what is going on.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Yes, your wobbling is pretty bad, but it&#039;s really the kind that would benefit from the firmware compensation. You already removed the other sources of errors and you only remain with periodic uneven layer height. I would give the firmware a try if I were you.</p><p>Otherwise, from a hardware standpoint, I think you should try stopping the Z motor from going up and down.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>At this point, I&#039;d point at the lead screw for the z-axis.&nbsp; If you can get a video of the top of the screw as you raise and lower the bed 50-60mm, check to see what the top of it looks like.&nbsp; I can almost guarantee that thing will be waving.&nbsp; You don&#039;t see it in small increments, but at gross movement it should be relatively stable.&nbsp; If not, that sucker is bent.</p><p>If it shows this, contact support and supply the image you posted and the video of the screw movement.&nbsp; If that ain&#039;t enough proof that your screw is bent... they&#039;re bent</p>]]></content>
