Carl - you may be somewhat right. I do run the printspeed a 130% & standard flow rate. Each of the motors has a cooling fan mounted to it, and 2 on the PC board. Cooling should not be an issue, but age.... is another thing - the machine is 3 years old today! The heatbed, extruder & PS have been upgraded, but the mechanics are original. This summer, I plan on turning my SD2 into an aluminum open framed SD3 - I hope. All this is moot as the problem seems to have been solved with a little cleaning. The fanning action looks so consistent....?

Because it is a fanning action it is happening on both x and y axis so it is also possible you may be running too fast and the motors are over stepping. They don't have enough torque to stop and change direction so they are over shooting on each layer and pass.

Clean your glass with Acetone first. Then buff clean with dry paper cloth because it'll still be dirty. Then re apply a few dust coats of hair spray letting them dry in between applications. I've had this before and my conclusion was that a fine layer of dust stuck to the hairspray previously on the bed preventing the new coating from actually contacting the glass. Mine peeled just like you described and my spray was new so I'm doubtful it's an age thing.

Haven't really turned on the printer for 6 - 7 months, honey-do list too long ( still come here 2 - 3 times a day). Tried today to print a few trinkets to adorn some Christmas packages. Months ago, I needed a razor blade and a small hammer to get the prints off the glass, both PLA & ABS - not now. They peel up like the first time I used the printer.
I did notice one thing, and that is most likely my problem. My Aqua Net is almost empty, that's Ok, but it it near 3 years old. When I pulled the failed print off, the small part that did stick brought most of the hair spray with it, in like a sheet - sticky too. Never heard of hair spray going sour, but never had a can for 3 years. Tomorrow I will re-check all calibrations, & re-level the deck - AFTER I get a new can of Aqua Net. Other than that, what could go wrong with the machine sitting untouched for a period of time?

Thanx for any help
Ski
