Hmm.. Sounds like Solidoodle just varied how it was constructed -- the location of the wood doesnt really matter as long as you have the spring in contact (and compressed) between the two nuts... The wood just holds the alignment of both nuts.

This is really important.  I had the same problem and crashed the bed into the print head when homing.  That caused me a bunch of trouble.  I did not think of turning it around and went with a different solution.  I may have to try this one again.


Hadn't noticed this problem... by tang you're referring to the tab right? I guess I never print that far back... Good to know!

But I think I achieved the same functionality using this rubber ring.
Since the displacement would not be that large, and I was able to use the original STL.
