It did make a grinding sound at random, but I figured it was the stall protection board or some debris passing through. The latter is mostly unlikely with my routine, so I didn't pay much attention since I was getting great consisten. The older motors sub-v2.0 are louder to confirm what kronikabuse aptly stated.

This is entirely user error/neglect for anyone keeping score. My post is more of a public service message....and I'm still laughing in high spirits

I've been experiencing some very slow extrusion the last couple of weeks. Once I reached the 2in/pm point, I reached out to elmoret to help me narrow it down. After a slight learning curve for home extrusion, I've had nothing but success with my Filastruder v1.6 and only speak the highest of his products.

So once I finally found some time to figure this out, I unmounted from the wall and set it down when I noticed what looked like a section of a washer. I never inspected the thrust bearing or lubricated it since assembly, so I now present to you the next hilarious installment of "Why You Should Listen To Tim".

Inspect your thrust bearing and lubricate as needed. I hope everyone got as much of a laugh out of this as I did!
