I am very interested in the alum. bearing block that you introduced,
do you know another metal bearing block or carriages for 3D printer in the market?

Why people like a metal block (or carriage), Makerbot's traditional injection molded
block is not strong enough, or has some mounting issues?

I have had good luck with 20mm supported rails from glacern.com, but 20mm is a bit large for my Solidoodle lol.

Bearings is one of those things that there is a huge price difference between top shelf quality and mainland chines imports.

For example folger tech sells what you are asking for. At very reasonable prices $3 usd each . but you may need to buy a couple extras and sort though for the best.

Mcmaster Carr known for top shelf industrial products sells them as well for $45 each a bit pricey for a home built printer.

Misumi USA seems to be the best value for linear motion products.

I have looked at the reviews on Amazon for SCS8UU units and they do not appear to be very good; however that could be people trying to use them on rods that are not precision or hardened.

I don't want to repeat a failed experiment, but if someone has successfully done it, I would like to hear how it went.
