My start g-code is very simple.

]]>G1 is a normal move so not Z offset.
Z offset can easily be set in slicer via the advanced setting menu but that may not help you.

So to lift the print head in the beginning of the print, should i look at anything that has to do with z offset? if you dont mind me asking? Although i only see codes involving a probe, not sure if that would be it.

]]>There is a reprap g code cheat sheet on Thiniverse and a couple other places will give you most of what you need to know about g code . M codes are handy for troubleshooting and tweaking at times

Yes i do own one, Da Vinci Jr.
Was on a huge special so kind of an impulse buy, now im fidgeting with it to make it work properly. But so far im looking at buying a new controller and use that instead of messing around with XYZ's bs board with its chipped filament requirements and crappy slicer software.
And i need to learn gcode asap.
But other than that im quite looking forward to getting into 3D printing and actually prototyping some of my designs/ideas i have. So far its a lot of fun.
