Y motor is attached directly to the SD frame, using it like one giant heatsink.  X motor is floating in the middle of a hot-air bath.

Did nlancaster mod to my SD3 and it is cool now smile
Pain was to solder two headers to board to get 12v, i also added resistor to get voltage down to 9v as it was too loud.

There was a set of unused pin holes marked +12V / GND. It's next to where the LED lights plug in. Soldered in a 2 pin header, the fans I got had a matching fan header already on them, so I just spliced in longer wires.
