Well I got an email from solidoodle saying it looks like a faulty hot end and they will replace it for me. Yes I did back out all of the abs plastic and I made sure not to turn on the extruder heater until I pulled it out as I didnt want to burn the plastic. And yes the picture is what it looked like when I got it yesterday. It never even extruded a drop

Thanks for all the responses, I'll keep you all updated on what happens.

Unfortunately it looks like you might have to remove the hotend and clean out the threads of the peek to reinstall the brass threads of the hotend.

So I received my Solidoodle today and set up all the software. Afterwards I followed the instructions on how to replace the 4" of filament they put in my printer. I followed them to the teeth and put in some PLA to get the following picture....
i52.tinypic.com/mk7onm.jpg

I'm still very new to 3d printing but after reading a few things here I think I have a clogged nozzle. Is this a common occurrence? I havent even got a drop to extrude out of the nozzle. I am also sure I didnt burn the plastic as I only turned the extruder on to change filament. Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks ahead of time!
