Before I start sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I figure Help would be a good start for this.

So, there are already tons of threads on there about upgrading to repetier.
I understand I will get better quality prints from my da vinci if I go this route and not have to worry about flashing my cartridges.
I was holding off till I used all my carts and well I haven't used them all yet. I bought a ton because they were cheap.

So my question is I want better quality prints.
I downloaded a .bin upgrade file of the repetier software for the da vinci its 0.91
This seems easy enough to install just go and install the straight from the xyz software wait a while twiddle your thumbs and then praise be jesus when it's done. now try to level it! I dare ya! with your big giant arthritic hands.

However people are saying don't use .91 because .92 is out and blah blah blah
then others are saying don't use .92 because it hasn't been updated in 2 years and the .91 was updated last year.
is there that much of a difference between the two? does it matter that much? should I stick to Open Mod and Slic3r?
if so, is there a way to turn off spool counting with out a resetter? cause that would be sweet.

Also if .92 is the way to go is there a good guide? all the .92 guides are rather convoluted and just confuse me when I read them. Or the YouTube videos they babble on about something not important and I get lost.

so does anyone know of a simplified guide that is like
Step 1: Short the Jumper
Step 2: Install Adurino IDE
Step 3: Pray to an Old god to end your futile attempts at better prints.
Step 4: throw away your printer.

My Da Vinci Setup is
Da Vinci 1.0 (Not 1.0a)
Firmware 1.1.I
Using Open Mod found on Volvo's forum. Version 1.0 because the 1.1 can't be downloaded anymore.
Using Slic3r for slicing.
