The wiring may seem a bit daunting if you haven't done it before, but it's not too difficult. Take your time with the diagram. Focus on each individual pin at a time and trace back which lines connect to the given terminal.

So i whipped out my trusty multimeter and soldered the end of the K thermocouple (there use to be a glob of solder at the end and i  noticed it was missing). So i resoldered the ends together, verified continuity to the PID....and then

It started rising like the heat of the phoenix!

You could try flipping over the connector though, wouldn't hurt to try.

Did it ever display a temperature?

So i am attempting to do my first filament extrusion and when I go to se tthe Sestos PID it flashes "orAL" and 1312 and it never changes temperature. I looked on the forum and this happened to someone else and it was said that they have their polarity wrong on the temperature sensor.........is this talking about the "fork prong" that is on spot 3/4 of the PID?

I can see you've got some room to slide the shaft collar a few millimeters towards the motor. This will move the tip of the auger out, it only needs to stick out a couple millimeters. Your assembly looks good otherwise, though you can peel the tape off the parts to make them cleaner.

The big power supply is for the Filastruder, the small one is for the Filawinder. I'm sorry if that wasn't clear, I thought big motor + heater = big power supply. big_smile If you cut up the wrong power supply and can't get it spliced back together, let me know via email and I'll get you another one.

That ring is called a C-clip. There are special pliers you can use, but I've done them before with normal pliers. Just takes a bit of patience and eye protection of course, as they will sometimes go flying. C-clips are spring loaded in order to stay in place. Yes, it should be in with the mesh, to hold the mesh in place. They aren't preinstalled because if the need arises to swap the filter, you'll need a way to install the C-clip yourself anyway.

1. I ordered a filastruder and filawinder and they both came in the same box...

2. my nozzle (1.75mm) came with the melt filter already out, i am trying to put this thing in but it wont fit.

I soldered them because I had more than one wire going to a switch point (i can easily remove if need be....)
