I'm not sure what the resistance is on the Davinci 1.o hot end but it should be in the 2 to 6 ohm range. Also what meter did you use? Some meters have difficulty measuring this low of a resistance accurately. These printers have been know to have trouble with the cheap connectors to the hot end. You can disconnect and confirm you have 12 VDC to the connector. If you do it's probably the connector. I just soldered my together (see the attached picture). I checked resistance of the two insulated wires and found they were shorted. The Davinci site wants to charge me 99 dollars for a whole hot end with no option of just heating element.
