Thanks, I think you are right. Now I know what is wrong I can hopefully find a solution. Might have to look at slic3r and see if I could get that to work as I cant see slicer settings in the stock software.

I would say it's software not hardware, it looks like either it was scaled incorrectly so the walls have been made so small the slicer didn't see them, or that your top and bottom layers in slicer settings are too small. I would first suggest taking the stl model into netfabb and repairing it tho through that, then check your slicer settings. I use 5 tops and 3 bottom layers, not sure where this would be in the stock xyzware though

Hi,

Im new to 3d printing and have just got myself a jr to start off with. I am having problems with my prints. They seem to be missing the first initial layers for example with the elephant in the picture it has not printed the side and with thinner prints they are much thinner than they should be. The seatbelt clip on the right should be around 2/3mm thicker than it is which is roughly the same thickness that is missing from the side of the elephant.

Any ideas or help would be great. Ive tried calibrating the x axis and moving the z axis but to no avail. I do have some extra filament I could try but not sure if that would help really. Other than the first layer the prints are good.

Thanks in advance!
