In normal circumstances, the only reason for your ceiling temp to be 135f is there is a young fire below. Or poppinfresh.

Oh ok...it has to be 135 degrees AT THE SENSOR

I was thinking it was taking the temp AT THE SOURCE via a laser or something

135F is a nice trigger temperature, it seems to be the lowest available. I found a list of trigger temperatures which you can determine by the color of the bulb on sprinkler systems. Looks like the ones in my lab are dark red, which I guess makes sense because we don't want sprinklers going off and ruining our equipment unless it's a guaranteed total loss.
