			<title type="html"><![CDATA[SD4 E3D v6 Mods]]></title>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>As I have been working through the wealth of information captured throughout the forum on extruder upgrades I am slowly making my way to installing the E3D v6 hot end.&nbsp; Have a few pictures of the mechanical before I get to building connectors.&nbsp; Because my printer is down I opted for the mechanical solution of machining down the E3D v6 mounting flange to fit in the standard SD4 mount.&nbsp; That was a great tip and it made the mechanical install super easy.&nbsp; A few images attached.</p><p><span class="postimg"><img src="http://soliforum.com/i/?S7Tyz1W.jpg" alt="http://soliforum.com/i/?S7Tyz1W.jpg" /></span></p><p><span class="postimg"><img src="http://soliforum.com/i/?i9cSAw6.jpg" alt="http://soliforum.com/i/?i9cSAw6.jpg" /></span></p><p><span class="postimg"><img src="http://soliforum.com/i/?vCihTKM.jpg" alt="http://soliforum.com/i/?vCihTKM.jpg" /></span></p><p>So far the firmware update to Marlin went well.&nbsp; Just need to finish wiring things up and I should be back to printing!</p><p><span style="color: red">*Update - Back to printing</span></p><p>Installation and tuning had no issues.&nbsp; I reused the Solidoodle 4 thermister after some thought about why I would change parts.&nbsp; Could not think of a compelling reason.&nbsp; I also ordered stock Solidoodle connectors from DigiKey to make installation easy.&nbsp; No hacking wire harnesses.&nbsp; PN A31080-ND and A30986 worked for me.&nbsp; Adjusted the PID after autotune.&nbsp; Extruder heats up very quickly.&nbsp; Currently printing at 220 C with ABS.&nbsp; Thanks again for the help!</p><p><span class="postimg"><img src="http://soliforum.com/i/?Depa9sa.jpg" alt="http://soliforum.com/i/?Depa9sa.jpg" /></span></p><p><span class="postimg"><img src="http://soliforum.com/i/?95Sz8m8.jpg" alt="http://soliforum.com/i/?95Sz8m8.jpg" /></span></p><p><span class="postimg"><img src="http://soliforum.com/i/?m0ZzzgY.jpg" alt="http://soliforum.com/i/?m0ZzzgY.jpg" /></span></p>]]></content>
