So I spend hours in despair probing my new 3D printer with a multimeter since it displayed an "Error 0014"

But I'm so happy because
I found out how to fix it

Here's how to troubleshoot it:

Check connectors on extruder

Open back panel. Check connectors on the motherboard.

Check thermistor resistance for responsiveness with a multimeter. Room temp should be 100k ohms.
Refer to this chart to check the temp based on resistance: http://www.bapihvac.com/content/uploads … r_100K.pdf

In my case there was just a loose connector at the back panel where the motherboard is. I was reluctant to open it thinking it would void my warranty. But I'm so happy I did open that panel! Connector was probably dislodged during shipping.

This saved me so much time and money. And when I fixed it I was jumping and screaming.
So proud to do this at 16 years old.
