Can I tell what version the software is and if it's capable of the USB configuration by looking at the sd card?  It was order from filistruder on 12/12/2015. Order number 11855

Should I have the wifi dongle and USB drive plugged in prior to or after powering up the raspberry pi.

My scanner was a Christmas present so I presume it has the latest version of the software that supports this USB drive configuration but I don't know for sure. Is there any way I can find out the software version without plugging into a monitor?  If not guess I'll be going out tomorrow to get a keyboard and mouse. All my current ones are wireless and I'm presuming these wouldn't work. Thanks in advance.
