I received my XYZ 1.0 second-hand, and after flashing it with Repetier, found that it actually printed better than my home-build MendelMax 1.5+ (since sold). However, the last time I tried to print, I found that the output was all kinds of messed up, something that suggested, at the time, a problem with the slicer (Slic3r, in this case)--nothing unusual.

However, when I fired the printer up the other day, having let it sit for a few weeks, I found that the carriage was jammed in place in the X-direction. I put some elbow grease into it, having verified that the belts, pulleys, and gears were okay, and got the thing to move cleanly back and forth...except for one spot toward the left side.

I can't see clearly around the rod, so it's possible there's something about the underside (though I doubt it), but something about that spot, all of a sudden, causes the carriage to bind up. And it's just that rod, too; at one point, the brass bushing actually came loose from the carriage itself, and I had to force it off the spot.

Anyone run into something like this? If so, what's the solution? I rubbed some grease on the spot (some WD-40 silicone grease or something, that I had for LM8UU bearings), but that didn't seem to help.
