When I start repetier it does nothing else out of the ordinary except for the movement issue. Why isn't your thermistor plugged in? I have a solidoodle 4 which I am in the process of installing a v6 on. Without the v6 even plugged in. The manual controls don't do anything. The home buttons work but the other ones don't. It also gives a m999 error, but nothing is plugged in to the thermistor connector. This is a mandatory step or you will have several issues similar to what you mention. You could also have a short.
