have you tried just typing in http://raspberrypi/ ?
it should auto-redirect you to whatever the ip address currently is.
This assumes you only have 1 raspberry pi on your network. if you have multiple pi's, you should follow these instructions:
http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2012/0 … -hostname/

maybe consider changing the hostname to something like atlas3dscanner
then you would enter http://atlas3dscanner/ to get to it instead.

Hi Bill,
I can only speak to this problem in general terms. If a device is using DHCP to get its IP address then yes it can change every time that it is power cycled. This can be changed by setting up a static IP for the device. Typically in a household environment that has a wireless router devices get their IP address from the router via DHCP unless both the router and the device have been configured to use a static IP address for that device. As always Google is your friend.

The specifics for the RPi are here:
http://www.modmypi.com/blog/tutorial-ho … ip-address

Yes, if you are using dhcp - which you almost certainly are. Some of the more modern routers assign the same ip to the same hardware address when they can, but it's not guaranteed.

You may - depending on your router - be able to assign a permanent ip address.
