			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>What if I found out the percentage shrinkage from a test piece and just used the xyz ware software to increase the size of the objects by that percentage anytime I use the software to slice an object?</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>When your print cools it naturally shrinks a certain percentage and this varies from roll to roll of filament. What most do is make a calibration object. I made a cube that is 50mm by 50mm with a 20mm bore through each axis. By printing this object of known values I can see what the shrinkage ration is and correct my design measurement for it. </p><p>If you where not using a Junior with it&#039;s locked firmware you could go in to the firmware and tweak the steps per mm on each axis to get it a little closer as well. But the none of the Da Vinci machines allow you to edit firmware in stock form.</p>]]></content>

			<title type="html"><![CDATA[Calibration Fail Davinci Junior]]></title>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I recently printed a part that is eventually going to go into a lightsaber. The part is round but ended up with two flat spots opposite of each other instead of being perfectly round. The part is about 1&quot; in diameter so I would think it would print it with no problem. I was having bigger issues previously with the filament feeder clicking and prints not laying down properly but fixed all that with the new printhead and z offset adjustment. As far as getting things to print correctly I did some more googling and found a few more things to check/calibrate.</p><p>So far I have:</p><p>Tightened the X and Y axis belts. <br />Leveled the bed using the XYZ protocol.<br />Adjusted the Z offset so two pieces of paper slide through fairly easily.</p><br /><p>After doing this, I downloaded a nickel calibration test from thingiverse (<a href="http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11261">http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11261</a>). It is supposed to allow you to print it and fit a nickel in the slots and center hole. Now, I did notice the circular portions of the print looked nice and round with no flat spots but the holes were just a little bit too small to allow the nickel to fit where it was supposed to. I&#039;ve also noticed that generally speaking all of my prints with the Junior are slightly smaller than they are supposed to be. I usually have to make my designs slightly larger to be sure that when they print smaller than they should they still work.</p><p>What could cause this problem?</p>]]></content>
