Even your operator is not wearing the provided safety glasses which would protect the eyes, but what about skin? What happens during a workshop tour and somebody reaches into that nearly 3 inch beam path? Where the covers just removed for the video? There should be a barrier from the laser aperture all the way down to the work surface that completely blocks the laser and reflections.

Is your dark glass UV specific in absorption? Just curious as I would be worried about these things in my shop.

I have no issues with products as long as they meet minimum safety but the videos you present and even the operator do not show me that need..

Not to say pointers are not just as dangerous.. But the point is that lasers must meet certain guidelines in the US before they can be sold. If they are above a set wattage then the beam must be fully enclosed and have no possible way for the user to be exposed to the beam or reflections while the laser is energized. If a panel or door is opened then the laser and high voltage supplies are shut down immediately.

This is the minimum required to legally sell a laser in the US. Look up Arctic Laser, they can no longer ship to the US due to recent laws. They sell high power pointers which their lowest model is 350mw and that cannot even be brought in to the US legally now if it is labeled correctly.

It's obvious you don't care about customer safety by your non nonchalant attitude. But on this forum safety is a big deal and in the US in general safety is fairly standard and adhered to.
