Thanks for the replies, it was indeed a blockage.

I now use personally set temps (upped it to 195) through slic3er enabling me to use my abs resetter cartridge that I bought (wont work with the PLA cartridge) which means I can alter settings to match PLA.

The first layer is done at abs settings but then it drops straight away. I had to strip the extruder out and the metal threaded pipe that feeds directly to the extruder nozzle (unsure of name) was seriously wedged/blocked (Ill add this was with an official PLA cartridge before I did any altering). I had to get my solder pro torch and heat it on full with pliers for a good while to let the PLA melt and get soft enough to clean with wire. Touch wood done about .5kg since no problems!

This happens to my 1.1 plus EVERY time with ANY PLA filament including stock.

For some reason there is bad heat creep on the 1.1's extruder pipe, i have to disassemble every time, remove the hot end from the heat sink assembly and use a large paperclip heated red hot, plung it into the stuck filament, let it cool for a second or two and pull it out with pliers(i do this with the extruder still hot from an unload filament cycle)

XYZ Support has been less then helpful, telling me to clean the gears, re-calibrate, etc. nothing useful.

I will have to look into the fan move mod to see if that works. As of right now I can only print very small PLA objects.

I also have a 2.0A and it prints PLA without issue, it appears to have a similar extruder setup so I am not sure why it works and the 1.1 doesnt.

G

Are you using stock PLA or third party? It is only designed to print with XYZ brand filament. If you wish to use 3rd party then you will have to mod your hotend and move the fan down a bit. Look up the mods SCOBO did on his earlier Da Vinci. All I can say is not all PLA is made the same.

The printer carried on. 'Finished the job'. Now wont extrude. Took off the extruder. The filament is wedged in the last shoot tight. Either jammed or extruder not getting hot enough. Any ideas? Had to unload manually as is solid in the extruder end.

Thanks for any help
