When mixing various colorants with a resin you can quickly get a very good idea of
what the final filament will look like by the following method. Weigh out the resin
and colorant in small quantities. Mix them on a piece of aluminum foil heated by
a hot plate with a wooden tooth pick. Let cool to R.T.,check the color, and adjust
colorant ratio if needed. You only need to use a few grams or so of the resin.
Your results will depend of course on how accurately you weigh your components.
This way you do not need to extrude and waste a lot of resin, time, and colorant in figuring
out what the resulting filiment will look like.
Trying to achieve a pink color. Do I just mix red and white together and out will come pink (Assuming that I don't significantly alter the "total colorant" to ABS ratio, of course. I.e., don't put 1:50 of red and 1:50 of white because 1:50 is normal, but 1:100 red and 1:100 white to make the total colorant ratio 1:50)?
Yes, your idea is correct. You may need to experiment as depending on the strength of pigment in your red and white it might need a different ratio, e.g. 25:75, etc.
