I just spoke to Alex over at Proto-pasta , He's going to cut me a 200mm x 200mm as well. Thought I might as well test it out on one of my spare 1.0a's . Cheers for the heads up looks good stuff

www.Proto-pasta.com cut a custom plate for me 200mm x 200mm of their flexible build plate which you can put over the glass perfectly. It is pretty awesome stuff that you can get prints off easily.

I asked for the heater to be fitted but the guy sells them separate if required or just the heater on its own

Just a sheet of Borosilicate glass placed on top of the damaged bed works fine. In fact, as far as I can tell, it works just as well.

I wonder if an ordinary glass with thickness about 1 or 2 mm more than the stock one could avoid the breaking and bowing issues.

(By the way, is the stock glass glued to the heater?)

Ok after a lot of arguing with XYZ they agreed to post me a replacement glass bed. However while I'm waiting for it to arrive I spotted upgraded ones online , so I ordered Two spares. They arrived today except royal mail stung me with a £8 customs handling fee and £14 in tax. Anyway it looks interesting. The heater looks much better covering all corners of the bed. Don't know when I will get chance to install it as I'm away for a week or so but cant wait to give it a try
