that is definitely moire - try adjusting the vref for the extruder down (counter-clockwise) - a tiny turn will have a big impact! so basically just a little wiggle of the ceramic screwdriver on the trim pot.

Im running RH on mac so I'm not sure if the interface is a little different but from what I've seen on windows it is slightly different. I was instructed to set my dump area to x=200 y=200 z-=15 so i did that and i guess we'll see if that works. but heres the photo of the wavy pattern on my print.

Agree with jagowilson - verify your ending g-code, and the printer configuration in RH.

my SD4 used to do that and it was because something was set wrong in RH.

The grinding sound is likely being caused by an incorrect coordinate in your ending GCode, so check that out there. Look for a line that starts with "G1 X" and see where it's going. Also, check the park position in your RH Printer config and make sure it is set to a valid coordinate.

For your wavy issue, pictures are worth a thousand words. It sounds like ringing to me, since it only occurs around short portions (I assume you mean it's mostly visible at corners). It could also be moire though, so I will need a picture to clarify.

So I finally have everything up and running again with successful prints after many issues one leading into another, now I'm just curious as to the correct settings and calibrations in RH and slic3r. For some reason after a print finishes, my bed drops some, which i told it to do, but my print head will shift from the home spot in the back corner to the opposite corner and keep going a little too much causing a grinding noise to pop up and i can't imagine thats good for it. Also, my prints are smooth but kinda wavy in a way. The waves on it are very uniform and go up the layers in sort of a diagonal fashion. This only occurs on the shorter lengths of the perimeters whereas the longer lengths are pretty much perfect. I have my extrusion and flow rate perfectly calibrated so i know thats not it. Btw thank you to all who have helped me along the way in getting my printer fixed, you guys are awesome!
