<![CDATA[SoliForum - 3D Printing Community — last safe version of xyzware?]]> 2015-09-24T20:17:37Z PunBB https://www.soliforum.com/topic/12382/last-safe-version-of-xyzware/ <![CDATA[Re: last safe version of xyzware?]]> I am not sure since I stopped using XYZware awhile ago.  I have the 1.0A with 1.0.3 firmware.  I never let it upgrade the firmware and blocked XYZware from phoning home.  Personally if what you have works then I would stick with it.

There are other options of course to avoid this issue.  I have been using Simplify 3D and it works well on my stock firmware.  Windows 10 in my case recognizes the printer.  Simplify 3d is not a cheap solution but it works well for me and I am glad I bought it.  There was a very noticeable improvement in print quality for me.

I have committed to going the Repetier route though and am trying to work up the guts to flash it.  I bought a new hot end for it that I will install after I get the machine working with Repetier.  Going this route opens up several options with slicers, etc. that are free but I understand that route is not something you want to do.  I felt the same for a long time.

I have not used my printer in a few months and just got it all setup again but on a new computer. I went to download xyzware and when I read the changelog it says

New features and improvements:
 New firmware version 2.0.X. of da Vinci 1.0A 3D printer integrated
 Modify user interface words strings

I dont want the software to flash my firmware since I just reflash my empty carts.
My current firmware is 1.0.1
