I'll be posting for suggestions but I really want a simple upgrade, I may even settle for a board swap from SD.

It's a bit hard to tell from the photo, but that might be blowing on your heatblock a little too much. If that's the case, you can angle it down a bit more. Too much air on the heatblock will mess with your temperatures any time it kicks in.

I was upset since almost every carriage fan used up valuable print space. Since my fan sits below & behind the E3D hot end I have zero space lost to cooling and it puts out plenty of air for every job I've had so far.
