I also wanted to show the progress that I made for migrating the Main Board to the outside of the Cabinet.
The first question that I had to ask was did I want to cut the connectors off and solder wires to them so I could get the connections out of the cabinet. After thinking about this I decided not to cut the wires because if something goes wrong then I have no way to revert back. I also wanted a way to quickly disconnect the printer in case I have to remove it from the enclosure.
So after racking my brain this weekend I decided that I could use two DB25 Male connectors
I'm using header pins and soldered them to a pre-fab PCB from radio shack and using 22 AWG wire I connected it together.
so far I'm only half way done with the connections but at least I have something to show for this weekend:

The female connectors will be mounted to the back of the cabinet and secured with screws and silicon.

I will create a custom PCB once I know that everything is working the way it should. I'll also have to print out a mounting board for the final PCB.

I've decided to start a new project so I can start using my Solidoodle 3 again with ABS Plastic.
In the past I've had to move the printer out to the garage however it did not work well at all due to the Heat in summer causing the main board to overhead and cause bad prints.
I was using Plexiglas to enclose the printer however in the winter the prints would warp even after enclosing it. Then in summer the main board would overheat due to the heat radiating off the back of the printer and the heat in the Garage making it next to impossible to cool-down with external fans.
With young children in the house I could not allow myself to print inside due to the fumes that are produced when printing with ABS.
I spoke with my wife and convinced her that I could build a nice enclosure cabinet that looked like a piece of furniture that would be air tight so a fume filter could be used.
After spending about a week on the design I decided on the following:

I'm not the best at Skechup because I use Auto Desk Inventor however for Woodwork skechup is better.

After about two weeks of Cutting, Sanding, Staining I completed the Printer Cabinet:

This Cabinet allows access from Three Sides and the top is removable.
To finish this project I need to do the following:
- migrate the main board to the outside of the cabinet.
- add weather striping or something like it to seal the doors and top.
- Figure out how to attach the Print Spool
- Figure out how to build a Fume filter

I'll update on this as I move on but I would love to get some input on what you guys think.

I've attached the Sketch up file.
Thanks again,
