Thanks for the input. I have power down the printer and even unplugged it for a few minutes to make sure the logic resets. I don't keep my computer connected to the printer and I don't do the updates when it requests. I'm using a mac book pro and only connect it once the build has been sliced. In their last reply they said they had elevated my request to the engineering department. They also said to get them another three days. This is taking way too long. If they claim that I've voided my warranty then I will have no choice but to come over to the dark side. This is probably what I will do after the warranty is up anyway. I don't really have any issues with the software so far. I'm using Autodesk to build the print and then importing it into the XYZ software. This seems to work very well and I'm happy with the work flow. But if I can't use the resetter then I might just have to try different options. I think my first step is going to be loading and older firmware and then never letting it call home

I know you did, but just covering basics here. Have turned off the printer and left it off for a while like atleast ten minutes to make sure the logic fully resets? Have you power cycled the pc? Also try blocking XYZ ware in your firewall just to make sure.

My suspicion is newer firmware disables the printer if you try to use third party filament7. By disabled I mean just what yours is doing. Rejecting known good carts.

Sounds like its time you came over to the Repetier side. My guess is they know you used a resetter and know to them you are no longer a customer since using a resetter voids your warranty with the new firmware that calls home all the time.

Another issue that some others have seen is they are getting filament probably older stock from store inventory that is not in the current XYZ database. The way the new firmware works is it calls home anytime a cartridge is loaded. It checks the serial number on that cartridge against a database of sold cartridges. My guess is there was a cutoff date that they said that from this serial onward will be recorded. Anything not recorded gets rejected as being a tampered cartridge.

I dont think they took in to account that vendors could have old stock sonce not everyone practices first in first out stock rotation. Especially with something like plastic that last hundreds of years. So now some of that old stock is getting out to users and machines running newer firmware are rejecting them since they are not found in the database.

I think that it is a firmware issue plus the fact that I flashed one of my cartridges. But even the new one that hasn't been flashed isn't working. I have a month and a half left on the warranty so I am working with xyz to see if they can help me get it fixed. I got an email this morning telling me that they are referring me to the technical division and to wait three more days. I've been waiting since Monday and I have designs that I want to print.

I think flashing it with an older firmware will fix the issue.

Yes - I have had that a number of times. I have a DaVinci XYZ 1.0A with 1.0.1 firmware. The printer and computer are disconnected from the internet so the printer never calls home for upgrades to the software.

There were two types of errors I had:
- one was simple, the cartridge wasn't seated correctly on the spring connectors at the base so the EEPROM wasn't making a good connection. I had accidentally dropped the little rubber insert down there, so the cartridge sat proud off the connector at the base.
- The other error was due to incorrect EEPROM programming in an earlier version of the resetter I was using.

BUT - reading the various posts your problem may be due to a later firmware version which rejects re-programmed EEPROMs. The resetter you are using will specify which firmware is safe to use it with.

So everything was good, I had calibrated the bed (front was really low causing large prints to curve up at the corners). Almost to the end of the cartridge that came with the printer and about half way through a cartridge of blue abs filament I decided to flash the original cartridge with an arduino resetter. Now it won't recognize any cartridge I just keep getting an error that there isn't a cartridge installed. I thought it might just be the cartridges that I had were somehow bad so I ordered a new one. It came today and I get the same error message. I've put in a request for help from XYZ and told them that I had accidentally put the cartridge in backwards (which I kinda did, the resetter fits tight and was still on the cartridge when I put it back). They wanted serial numbers and purchase receipt (for the printer) but have yet to tell me anything that is helpful. It's still under warranty, I have about a month left so I'm not sure that I want to flash the firmware, but that is the only thing that seems to make sense.

Anybody else have this issue?

https://goo.gl/photos/WfaZh764gPKptjHH6
