			<title type="html"><![CDATA[Help find a replacement extruder motor: 400 steps/rev]]></title>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>I recently replaced the hot end of my Solidoodle2 with an E3D.&nbsp; I&#039;ve followed all the recommended steps, adjusted the E trimpot using the audible technique (had to set it down to 0.100V), and calibrated the steps per unit.&nbsp; But, I still get significant moire patterns.&nbsp; Lowering the temp from 220C to 210 improves it a little, but the parts started splitting (despite the full enclosure).</p><p>I&#039;m ready to try replacing the extruder with a 400 step/rev part (this sounds easier than soldering a new 1/32 driver onto the driver board).</p><p>Can someone recommend a part, or define the key specs?&nbsp; I saw a post that pointed to Sparkfun.&nbsp; The 42BYGHM809 stepper motor&nbsp; (<a href="https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10846">https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10846</a> ) is the right physical size, but the 3V spec seems low, based on other forum discussions.</p><p><span class="postimg"><img src="http://soliforum.com/i/?XAaorfF.jpg" alt="http://soliforum.com/i/?XAaorfF.jpg" /></span></p><p>Any suggestions?</p>]]></content>
