Remember a fan that is not turning allows air to pass by the gaps between the blades. So you will still have two open holes on both sides that will allow drafts in and cause sudden temp changes which is what causes ABS print failures.</p><p>To print ABS the temp has to change extremely slow and evenly or very fast at the layer level. That is why a layer fan will still work on ABS as well.even though many are afraid to try it or have not thinking that it would have the opposite affect. However a layer fan not only cools the layer just printed but all the layers below as well so you have even cooling and limited delamination.</p><p>In your case though you will have a cool draft coming in from the sides and that will cause the right and left sides to cool faster than the front and back and make your model warp and maybe even separate. </p><p>If you run the fans then you will cool from one side only again with the same results as both sides.</p><br /><p>What is your purpose for putting in the fans in the first place if I may ask? If you are worried about motors heating it is better to print off mounts for fans and mount fans directly to each motor. Yes you will be blowing the internal air which is warm over them but it will still be much color than the motor and have a cooling affect while not altering the cabinet temperature.</p>]]></content>

You are going to have hard time if you plan to continue printing with abs. Most people who install this air handling solution do so with the intention of a complete conversion with no plans to go back to abs.</p>]]></content>

			<content type="html"><![CDATA[<p>Yes... but, for me anyway im not tapping any of my fans into the power supply of the davinci.&nbsp; The power supplies in these unit are supposedly not great in the first place so i have powered my fan externally.&nbsp; The one on the duct for PLA printing i have is powered by a 8v dc charger for a swiffer wetjet.</p><p>I plan on putting on those fan shrouds like your planning with 2 on each side one blowing in one blowing out but im going to power it with one of these <a href="http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999167">http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as … 6811999167</a> rather than hack into the wiring.</p>]]></content>
