You can sell it for $400+, then you can buy an Atlas 3D with the Laser cut enclosure and RPi 2 for $300, and have a few bucks left over for a nice lunch.

I'm pretty sure you can get enough (or close enough) for it to buy an Atlas 3D

I finally got the time to tear into the Makerbot Digitizer to see what was inside.

Two lasers, a stepper motor, a camera, and a computer board. The stepper motor looks pretty cheap, but I don't really know what to look for so I'll let you guys tell me if it's any good. The board is totally useless unless I flash my own firmware to it, and the camera is a CHEAP usb camera.

So what do you guys think? Is it worth reusing the parts?

At this point, it looks like the only usable parts are the two lasers! I'm really surprised at the lack of quality for an $800 scanner.
