In case anyone is interested, I found an add-on @ the Autodesk web site that allows FBX files exported from AutoCAD 2104 to be converted and saved as obj files.  I have not tried to print from the obj file yet,  but at least now I can convert without having to download 3d studio max.  will post results  when I run my first trial.

I am new to this forum and to 3d printing.  I use AutoCAD 2014 and would like to try printing using an obj file rather than an stl.  I don't need 3D studio Max and would like to convert without having to downloads this massive file. Any advise you can give me would be appreciated.  Oh yea, I'm using an XYZ davinci 1.0A with repetier firmware .
