Welcome to the wacky world of 3d printing. It is lot of fun but seems the affordable ones like the davinci and solidoodle need lots of TLC pr patience, persistence and perspiration. There are some really helpful videos on you tube about the davinci. and lots of helpful folks here.
As far as your question you may want to break it off and post it in the Davinci sub fora.

I just purchased my first 3d printer due to a flash sale on Newegg. It's a Davinci XYZ 1.0 and I got the unit mostly for modeling and miniatures creation. So far I've only printed the demo pieces and a tiny tiger tank (PzKpfw VI to be exact). I'm completely new to 3d printing ands have only had rudimentary exposure to 3d modeling software.

If I may be so bold as to ask a question in my introductory posting, has anyone heard of a file format ending in .nkg? It seems that some of the pre-made models available from the DaVinci gallery are in this format but the XYZ software doesn't seem to recognize it.
