I am thinking of setting up a Raspberry Pi for "Wireless" (and off-site) control of my 3D printer. If it works out, I will have it set up to also stream a live video of the print and/or record time-lapse video.

Has anyone else done anything like this before? I am mainly concerned with getting the printer to communicate with the Rpi. I am not very familiar with the limitations of linux. My printer operates with a RAMBo v1.3 board and I use MatterControl for slicing, although it might be easier to figure some way to do the slicing on another computer first since the Rpi may not be able to handle some larger slicing jobs. I don't know - lot of unknowns - any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
