The issue is there are about 4 different flavors of the 1.0. The tuning resisyor was on the PCB in the head on older versions while on newer versions it is on the mother board and newer firmware takes that into account while older firmware expects it to be on the head board and the incoming signal to be pre modified. So for older firmware yes you need the pcb in the head.</p>]]></content>
