It sticks nice even with soliprint program. The only down side is having shorter height because of perforated surface.

FYI nail polish removers main ingredient is Acetone.  Although it will melt ABS it does it poorly as it is not pure acetone.

]]> https://www.soliforum.com/user/2291/ 2015-04-12T15:23:14Z https://www.soliforum.com/post/92788/#p92788 <![CDATA[Re: Is anyone else who got their printer early on still unable to print?]]> Anyone having issues with adhesion, don't use hairspray (unless its aquanet, since its heavy on stickiness and doesn't dry quickly since it has less alchohols than a pricier hairspray) or gluesticks or painter's tape since all of those tend to add a bit of of a thermal barrier more than actually helping.

The best solution I've had 100% success with is:
Stick some of your bad prints in a cup, add nail polish remover and cover it. After 24 hours, It will break down some of the ABS plastic into the remaining liquid.

Put that into a spray bottle and apply that thoroughly to the area you will print on about 1 minute before printing when both your extruder and bed are hot already

This is the best adhesion solution yet.

You might also want to check teh voltage on your extruder trimpot.  Mine was crazy low, which cause a bunch of other issues.  It seems to be an issue with many press units.

I have not mess with the sclic3r options, but that will be my next step.

That's for the first layer only.

I am not sure the date. but I got the 2nd batch of Press.  I was just able to successfully print a model today.  Simple model.. but so far its working.  PITA.. but got it working. 

My biggest issue was adhesion.. then extruder thumping.. and of course the cable to the extruder being pinched.  After I resolved those things, I am able to print.

what issues are you having?  I am straight noob, but I will help where I can.  I know how frustrating it can be.

I submitted my first ticket to tech support on January 21.   
I eventually got through to tech support after a month who finally sent me an RMA for the bad Press on February 24.   
It's now March 30 and I'm still awaiting the replacement unit that was promised "within a week."   

At this point, they can't even tell me when the replacement unit will be shipped other than it will be "as soon as possible."   I'm quickly learning what that means in Solidoodlease.   :-(
