Not so bothered about flexi if I want to move to it in the future I will just find or design a direct drive carriage or does anyone have a thingiverse file?

Ah right okay yeah I have kept the same motor and drive gear will do a test print tonight was so so easy to install I would easily recommend it to anyone!!   

How did the test prints work out? I have been considering this due to the lack of rigidity in the x and y axis. I get ripples if I speed my prints up at all. I know I need to make some mechanical adjustments but I think the best thing I can do is reduce the amount of mass that is moving.

Have you printed any PLA with your Bowden setup? Did you have to manipulate the stock head in any way to get it to work? I would like to retain the ability to switch back in case I need to print any flexible materials.

Otherwise you would need to flash Repetier firmware and host to gain direct control.

So if i need to flash it what steps per mm would I need to set it at?

Just put a E3D hotend with bowden setup can post pictures if needed

Are they any setting I would need to change in my slicer for this to work properly?
